Floor Grates
When it comes to floor grates, you not only want a model that will withstand heavy foot traffic, but you want something that fits the style of your home as well. After all, if you invest in beautiful wood floors, it’s a shame to interrupt them with unsightly metal floor grates or poorly constructed wooden ones. At All American Vents, we are committed to crafting fine vents and grates in a wide variety of woods and styles to complement virtually any home.
When measuring for your floor grates, we need the dimensions for the height and width of your duct openings. If your flooring is already installed, and if you want Self Rimming versions, this cutout area is usually irregular in shape. Don’t worry, this is pretty standard and the Self Rimming lip will cover or trim most any irregularly cut opening.
We have many standard sizes available, so chances are you should be able to find exactly what you’re looking for on our site. However, if you find that you require a non-standard size, simply enter your custom specifications into our convenient online ordering system.
In addition to sizing, we’ll also need to know how you would like your vent to mount to the floor. Options include a drop-in design, where the vent is kept in place by an inner frame that fits inside the duct as well as an outer lip that rests on top of the floor. So even if the kids are using the wood grate as a “Home Plate” and they slide into Home Plate, the wood vent stays fixed in it’s spot.
If you want an even more customized appearance, you might consider our flush-mount option. With flush-mount vents, the surrounding separate frame is nailed into the floor, centered over the duct opening, so that it is level and smooth with the surface of your flooring.
If you have thinner enginneered or laminate flooring, we can make flush mounts for those as well.
Custom mounts are also available, as is a surface-mount version that does not include an inner frame. To learn more about our floor grates, please continue browsing our site, or contact us at 800-232-8353 or info@americanwoodvents.com.
