Floor Louvered custom sizes

Floor Louvered Style, Air Return or Supply Vents

in sizes not shown on the other pages:

When it comes to floor vents, air returns or supply registers and vents, you not only want a model which fits the style and wood of your home or office, but also that is designed to withstand floor traffic.  After all, if you invest in beautiful wood floors, it’s a shame to inerrupt the flooring with old metal vents or poorly constructed wood ones, isn’t it?  If it is on the floor, sooner or later you are going to have that Christmas Party you never invite me to attend and someone is going to step on that vent (even if under the stair landing).

At American Wood Vents we are committed to crafting fine vents and grates in a wide variety of woods and styles to complement vertially any home or office.

That is why, even with the standard size registers, we make wood vents from multiple parts of wood so that the grain goes the length of the piece and not perpendicular to that part. Each part is locked to a rail or stile so that it set at a 90 degree angle for maximum strength. Since we are the nationwide manufacturer we can make wood vents in different ways in order to increase Strength, improve appearance, change air “Throw” or to increase air flow.

We have made some pretty long and skinny (under 10″) load bearing sizes for the louvered styles. For Wider sizes we need to talk about your situation, the wood you want to choose and the size of your floor opening. Depending upon the wood and size of your opening we can suggest different ways we can make sure that your wood vent is designed properly to fit your particular situation.

If you have a large air return or opening size in the floor you may want to consider the 5/4 Oak, Ash, Maple or White Oak Vents.  This is the Strongest, Safest, most Substantial floor vent available for residential air returns.  We have stronger options also available as well depending upon your situation. We are happy to discuss this with you most any time.

In the Louvered Styles we can choose to have the louvers slanting in 1 direction, 2 ways and depending upon the size 3 ways (left, straight up and right) or all slanting straight up at no angle.

When measuring for floor vents, be sure to note dimensions for the length and width of your opening cutouts.  If your flooring is already installed you will typically have an irregular cutout size so just take the minimum length and width measurement.  For example, if one side is 29.5 and the other size is 30″ just go with the 29.5″ as you size.

If your flooring is not yet installed you will most likely want to go with a Flush Mount version.  We can make flush mounts for most any floor thickness, including engineered or laminate flooring, even ceramic tile flooring.

If your floor vent is going into carpets, just let us know and we can walk you through with some questions to understand better your situation.

If you need a large or long one just let us know.

Floor Louvered Air Return or Supply vents can have different specifications depending upon the wood choice and the size of the opening, such as center supports, thicker Louvers etc. Available in Self Rimming (surface mount) or Flushmount with or without a Frame.
