Typically for Floor Supply Vents we use the Register Style.  This diffuses air from the Supply Air System in 2 directions.  We have also custom made wood vents to do 3 or more directions.  In high end homes many will use the small Grate Style. Just let us know what you have in mind or send us a quick sketch or email.
If your flooring is already installed you will most likely want the Self Rimming versions.  These are a snap to install, they just drop into place. So even if the kids are using the wood vent as “Home Plate” and slide into Home Plate the wood vent is not going to move or get dislodged in most cases.
If you want to retrofit FlushMount Vents your wood vents into your already installed floor, it is not as hard as you may imagine.  With new tools now available about 20% of the flooring companies like to lay the flooring (not worrying about cutting around the ducts) and then just “cut in” the flush mounts afterwards.  Every Flooring Pro has their own way they like to do this, but even a Non-Pro can retrofit Flush Mounts into most hardwood floor situations. We are happy to walk you through this proceedure as you need.

Our Flush Mount floor vents are ideal if you want your vents to blend perfectly into your floors. Flush mounts are Flush to or Smooth with the surface of your floors and are typically installed with your new flooring.  Whether you want to match your existing floors exactly or want to choose a wood that provides a slight contrast, we can help you achieve your desired look.

Many of our customers like to add a frame to their flush mount vents, which gives a more customized appearance. The frame can be nailed into the sub floor along with the rest of your hardwood flooring, making the vent a design element in and of itself. It may be easiest to install a flush mount vent at the same time you install your hardwood floors. However, if you have an existing hardwood floor and would still like to add a flush mount vent, we have some great solutions.

Our wooden floor vents are finely sanded and shipped to you unstained so you can customize them to your liking. If you have any questions about our vents, installation methods, or anything else, please call us at 800-232-8353 or email us at info@americanwoodvents.com
